The United States Industrial Fabrics Institute's activities are centered on addressing the following industry needs:
- Effective lobbying
- Defending the Berry Amendment at all costs
- Creating educational opportunities
- Expanding export markets and better understanding domestic markets
- Developing industry task groups for immediate action, when needed

FY 2011 USIFI Board of Directors
USIFI is a division of the much larger Industrial Fabrics Association International, a global trade association. USIFI is a country sector, made of United States businesses. IFAI also includes country sectors in Canada and Japan and has members worldwide. IFAI also includes divisions which are market segmented, such as the Marine Fabricators Association, the Narrow Fabrics Institute, and the Professional Awning Manufacturers Association.
